Weight loss should be one of the easiest things you can achieve with your body. Why? Because there is a formula that works. CALORIE DEFICIT!!
We spend so much time focusing on weight loss that we forget to deal with the aftermath. That's why the diet culture exists. You gain weight, you lose it, and repeat. Coaches benefit from it, doctors benefit from it, gym owners benefit from it while the person stuck in the cycle suffers physically, mentally and financially.
BREAK THE CYCLE 👊🏾💥
The goal, once you've reached your weight loss target should be to KEEP IT OFF. Achieving this goal requires a CHANGE IN HABIT and MINDSET that starts at the very beginning of your fitness journey.
Here are some points to focus on:
1.Buy a food scale.
2.Learn to weigh your food.
3.Understand your macros (Protein, fats, carbs) and food value, eat mostly whole foods. Eat healthy snacks and indulge once in a while and on days you’ve exercised rigorously.
4.Understand your tolerance to specific kinds of foods for example lactose, eggs, bread, etc (my body hates legumes).
5.Focus on eating foods that are filling such as high fibre, high protein foods.
6.Stick to foods, exercises and routines that you enjoy (if you enjoy it, you'll stick to it) You love badminton but hate cardio on the treadmill, then play badminton! You'll stick to it because you enjoy it.
7.Identify your daily habits that cause or promote fat gain an limit or eliminate them.
8.Realise that your journey is not a SPRINT, achieving a life long result of physical fitness and wellbeing is a MARATHON and it will likely take a little while to get there.
This last one is very important. PLEASE, don't waste a thought or energy on the beauty standards you see online. Everyone you see online is battling their own body or mental issues. It's human nature to try to make others see us better than we are. So when you pay less attention to what's happening around you, you can focus more on how to be better everyday. 😊❤️
